Hi, Emily! I really enjoyed reading your Blog Post #3. I resonated with a lot of what you said.
I also use Reddit to build my academic PLN, and I find the subreddits on there to be immensely informative. I also love being able to connect with so many like-minded individuals and honestly can’t believe that platform is free!
The “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” TED Talk that you linked in your Blog Post was interesting as well. I agree with his idea that diverse PLNs are integral to developing strong critical thinking skills.

I also appreciated that you mentioned the importance of proper citations when engaging with online material. This is emphasized to university students over and over again; however, depending on someone’s academic background, they may not realize what or how they should cite information. I had no idea so many things were considered plagiarism until I got to university! Perhaps an Open Education course about plagiarism and the importance of proper citations could be beneficial for those who have not had the same experience as us.
